Big Sur Private Campgrounds
Offer All the Amenities

Not quite into the whole hiking-in ten or twenty miles to sleep in a pup tent on the ground and making your morning coffee over a barely-has-one-burner-backpacking-campstove for your next visit to Big Sur?

But, still, you'd really like to have that out-of-doors, I'm-communing-with-nature thing going on.

Well, Big Sur's private campgrounds are exactly what you're looking for then! A little pricier than other campgrounds, but you know what they say - you get what you pay for!

Big Sur Private Campgrounds
Treebones Resort

Treebones Resort is a truly unique experience! This charming Big Sur private campground is positioned on a bluff overlooking the majestic Pacific Ocean, there's not a bad view in the place.

Remember when we mentioned camping in a yurt? Here's the place! In addition to the views and the yurts, there are campsites, a restaurant, and something new - a "human nest" created by Jayson Fann.

Open all year and reservations are necessary.

You'll find 16 beautiful yurts - fabric walls and roof around a wood lattice frame - furnished and cozy; 5 campsites; a heated swimming pool and spa, a store, and a central Guest Services building for showers and laundry.

  • Why stay at Treebones?

You mean besides bragging rights? "Oh, didn't I mention? We stayed in a yurt." (Spoken in a very casual tone, of course.)
  • Spectacular views of the Pacific, especially sitting on the deck of your yurt with a cocktail in hand - they call them "Sundowners" in Africa - while, appropriately, the sun drops into the sea
  • The warm and friendly ambiance created by the owners and staff
