Looking at your Santa Cruz pages brings back memories.

In the 1970's, I was living in Santa Cruz and playing in bands there. The best-known one was Jango. We played at the old and new Catalyst every week for a long time.

The photo of the guy on the pier on your previous page could have been me. I especially liked fishing off the pier after a gig, 2-3:30 a.m., then sleeping on the pier in my camper. Hard life...

As a surfer, I also hit the water every chance I got, first on long boards in 1965 and switching to short boards in the 70s. That prompted an 8-year visit to Hawaii.

When I returned to the mainland with my wife and daughter, we moved to Washington but my second son and his family live and surf, La Selva Beach, just south of Santa Cruz.

Well, this has focused on MY memories, for what it's worth.

No time for all the other great spots like Yosemite and Lake Tahoe, etc, etc, etc.
